The best thing I've heard all day...
I'm in the office, minding my own business, as the other teachers discuss some of their students. One of my coworkers had this to say, "if you're looking for sympathy, it's in the dictionary between shit and syphillis." Of course, this was not said directly to the student, but it was enough to bring us all to tears with laughter. These are the moments that revive me.

We just started talking about the March for Life that's going on on Monday. The same teacher who gave us the shit and syphillis line just said, "shouldn't we have a March of Death to balance it all out?" I have seven more required contract minutes on this Friday afternoon. I wonder what else I'll hear.
Is it incorrect blogging protocol to comment on my own posts? Anyway, just one more comment that has brought laughter into my otherwise dreadful Friday afternoon. Another teacher just suggested that it would be wonderful if, at the end of each semester, we could trade students like baseball cards. "I'll trade you my Bobby for your Mark." That would add a whole new element of fun to my job. Then I'd really say "I LOVE THIS GAME!" (Source: MLB)
first k: i hate to say it (as i'm sure you understand), but e is right. you could just add onto the blog instead of posting comments. but e: you do realize everything you wrote in your comment could have been discussed over the phone. like right now, since you two are on the phone as i write this...
so that's my 2cents. assuming you wanted it. if not, too bad. at least this gives k a chance to see if the whole "get and email when people comment" thing is working.
hasta.
